3 Ways To Practice Self-Compassion
As a female entrepreneur, we can be all too good at focusing on what we’re not getting done, and put ourselves down for not being where we’d like to be.
While it’s important to continue to take steps to move forward in your business and be committed to your goals and getting them done, it’s equally important to realise that life happens and things don’t always go according to plan.
In these moments, instead of putting yourself down, the best thing you can do is practice self-compassion.
Self-compassion is not a way to let yourself off the hook for not doing the things you’re wanting to do for your business, but it is a way of being gentle and patient with yourself when you are aware that you are not moving ahead like you’d like to or that you’re procrastinating on certain things.
It is good to question why it is you’re not accomplishing your goal or why it is that you’re procrastinating as that will give you the information you need in order to change what it is you’re doing so that you can move forward in your business. And what is so important in these moments, is to question yourself, get curious with yourself, in a compassionate and loving way.
What I have learnt from years of being hard on myself is that it doesn’t get me anywhere and shuts me down and hold me back even further.
Showing self-compassion for myself, however, opens me up and allows for me to bring awareness to a situation so that I can then move through it and continue to move forward and take the necessary action, if required.
In this video, I talk about 3 ways that you, as a female entrepreneur, can practice self-compassion.
